Squirrel in the loft!

A squirrel has decided to try and set up home in our loft. Oh great.

Dh is out now buying wood etc to block up the hole the little b***r has made. The trouble is, we're not sure if he's run off in fright (the squirrel, not dh) or whether he's still in hiding up there.

I'm likely to fall through the ceiling if I bash about much more up there making scary noises with a stick! Plus I've got loads of other things to be doing.

Anyone else got any squirrelly advice?

Do you have a cat or dog? Or can you borrow one?

They will find the squirrel pdq by smell up there. Oh, will they fall through the ceiling though?

Call the council. I think squirrels come under pest contorl. You really don't want to let them in, they're bad news. If you're DIYing it, remember to get net spheres to put over chimneys and drainpipes.

No cat or dog - although I'm fending off regular requests from the children to get one.

Am very annoyed with this squirrel - we have a perfectly nice oak tree in the garden which he's welcome to.

my only suggestion is leave a trail of nuts from the loft to the tree loL!!!

At least i made u laugh

didn;t i???

Squirrels can be persistent little b*ggers though. Once they're in, they keep trying to get back.

my mum had a squirrle as well in the lofty bit above the lounge

the first they knew was that hed bitten through the ariel cable and they couldnt get a picture on the telly!

TinyGang · 30/01/2006 10:11

Oh thank you Squirrel!Everyone want to play it here!

Think we've fended him off for now - all is quiet in the loft again, but he could be playing mind games with us. I have a mental picture of him up there ala Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now preparing for war.

We had one in our loft, and got some of those things which emit a high-pitched noise they are supposed to hate, and ran them up through the loft hatch on an extension lead. Seemed to do the trick. Good luck!
