Tax return - quick q? who do i make chq payable to?

my chq is in a sealed envelope made payable to inland revenue, and tbh, i don't care if they can cash it or not!!

Why do we all leave it so late????? I have just posted mine and there was almost a queue of people posting theirs, its sunday night I never expected to see so many people dashing out of cars to post there big brown envelopes.

I did a business course and the Tax person said there was always a queue of cars and vans at the tax centres on the 31st. I thought she was a bit OTT but apparently this is true. Another MNetter used to get a taxi every year to the tax office. WHy do we do it, or not do it I should say?
