check your messages via ebay website.

existentialfannyangst · 26/01/2006 18:40

false. ebay never use a name/e-mail address when they mail you iyswim?

if they have a link in the e-mail click on it... then look at the URL. i'll bet you any money you like it won't be www.ebay.co.uk/.com

bubblerock · 26/01/2006 18:41

forward it to [email protected]

VestibularProwess · 26/01/2006 18:41

I've had several of these and all have turned out to be hoaxes. Forward it to [email protected] WITHOUT clicking on any links. Don't put in any information.

VestibularProwess · 26/01/2006 18:41

X posts bubble.

bubblerock · 26/01/2006 18:42

LOL - can you tell we've had a few of these bloody emails

helsi · 26/01/2006 18:56

I have forwarded it to ebay asking them if it is fake or if I have been suspended. I didn't click on the link but my juck email filter also has 2 emails from "ebay" saying that if I don't update my billing info within 48 hours I may be suspended. i think these are hoax too! None of the 3 emails appear in my "messages" in My Ebay.

We had an identical one a couple of months ago, Ebay said it wasn't from them and advised us to not answer any mails like this - which of course we don't.

edodgy · 26/01/2006 19:33

I had the same one too it is fake otherwise it would be in your ebay inbox as well.

Radley · 26/01/2006 19:36

it's a fake, how ever many e-mails you get, forward them all to [email protected] and if they are genuine, someone from ebay will ring you.

PeachyClair · 26/01/2006 20:01

The newest ones I've been getting (as Dh trades on ebay we get maybe 6 a week) actually id the item you are selling and then ask you if you take postal orders or what's the final price you'd do for a sell it now. All seems like a genuine question, then you notice the click on link....

you have to be SO careful1

eemie · 26/01/2006 20:18
