i want to help my sister, she is 26 and a qualified (very good) hairdresser but she is currently living with my mum and wants to get some money together to move out, the problem is she only earns £8,500 per year. she has credit cards, and a car on finance which has just cost her £500 when it went for a service. i have suggested paying off the credit card and getting a better paid job and then start saving for a house but she says she loves her job and then she crys because she doesnt know what else to do she says because shes dyslexic (sp?) she cant do another job i know this isnt true and we all have to do jobs we dont enjoy sometimes to get by and pay bills so what do i suggest to her?
i have said she could go and work on a cruise ship as a hairdresser but she doesnt want to live on her own away from people, shes very shy.
she thinks she can rely on men but she cant she;d rather be with any man than the right man iykwim not that she's a slut she is in a relationship right now but he's more of a mess than her. i tell her to look on the bright side because at least she's only got herself to think of and hasnt got to worry about kids etc the world is her oyster! how can i get through to her and make her see that this isnt how life has to be?

some one must have a clue, i've tried being soft and harsh, she bursts into tears either way and goes off on one about how bad her life is (and it really isnt that bad)

Not knowing her personally I can only suggest some general things.

consolidate the credit card onto a 0% and keep doing that every time the 0% expires (she will need a good credit score though).
Sell some things on e-bay/car boot e.g clothes, bags, shoes, hair things etc.
Work on an evening eg mobile hairdresser for friends/family (money on the side - but I didn't say that !!) or in apub behind a bar etc.
Stay in on a weekend/night for a while.
Sell the car - can she use a bus or will taxis be cheaper - does she really need it?

Its all about priority!
