OUTLOOK EXPERT: problem with "system administrator"

Anyone out there know about microsoft outlook. I've had an ongoing problem for a while now but have learned to live with it but my neighbour has just got a new laptop and the same problem is driving her mad so I thought I'd see if anyone can cure it.

Basically if you are not online or your email had tried to check for new messages when you've not been online leaving an error message - and then you try to send a message it doesn't go at all. Instead you get this messagesaying "System Administrator: undeliverable". Sometimes its happens loads, other times hardly ever but its really annoying as you think something has gone and the next time you check for messagtes there it is. I've looked under help and it just says that your server is not available and to check with your provider but we have different providers so its not that. I am convinced its to do with the send recieve settings but I've tried various things (like the online and offline groups) but nothing seems to work and whenever I try to investigate it seems impossible to create the problem when I want to. Any suggestions? Anyone else experienced this?

have you disabled the schedule send and receive. This should stop it trying to check for emails when you're offline. Will check with DH tonite what else it could be , but as in US, you'll get response tomorrow
