during the summer, some friends of mine all decided we'd had enough of always buying presents and never recieving any. so we did this thing where everyone gave over a ten pound note, and the birthday girl got fifty pounds of debenhams vouchers, and had to feed everyone either lunch, or dinner, depending on what was easier for them. i was one of the main ones to push for this, as am very materialistic, but my birthday was the last in the year, . october. but couldnt have ti then as one of the girls was going on holiday. then couldnt have it coz house was being redecorated. then it was christmas, then more decoration. etc etc.
i have been bullied into having it tomorrow lunchtime. but i have no groceries in the house. its also a pigsty. and i just dont want to have anyone oover to my house right now. still dont have kids playroom done yet. so everything in living room still.
can i call it off, or am i just being a miserable cow?

well to cancel it again might seem a bit rude. Could you do something simple? Why don't you want them to come? They won't mind if the house is a mess once you start pouring the wine

I'd call in with V&D and postpone until you feel like hosting............. Should be enough to put them off coming.

Could you met in a local pub instead for an hour?

think you're being a miserable cow

think you should do it anyway .. who cares what the house looks like the point is to have fun with friends

stick a rug on the floor and get picnic food and open a bottle or two and let your hair down

you'll enjoy it once you do it
