Some toerag, waster, whatever else you can think of has stolen dd1's mobile from her bag at school. It's a rucksack so they actually had to unzip it to get in and get the phone from under her books. They must have had a good rummage. Am going into school with her tomorrow morning to report it to them, not they can do anything but just want to make it known to them that it's happened. They'll be stressed tomorrow anyway as it's the first day of their OFSTED inspection!!

can you not keep phoning the phone?

some B***D stole my car once with the phone in it (was an old phone, only had about a fiver of credit!)

anyway i kept phoning it.... i also used to set my alarm clock for about 3 in the morning and phone them then..... JUST to wake them up...

Id call and call and call and then they'd turn the phone off.... a few hours / days later id do the same again

actually got talking to the people who stole my car for a bit too! (those were the days of phones being locks and SIM cards being hard to come by tho!)

At least i had the satisfaction of waking them up in the middle of the night numerouse times

They don't allow mobile phones at DS1 & 2's school now for this very reason.

If anyone tries to ring it, they get a message saying that it's temorarily unavailable. I rang Virgin who advised us to suspend the sim until we are absolutely certain that it has been stolen. If it's not at the school office in the morning, I've got to ring Virgin back with the IMEI number of the phone and they'll blacklist it, so that even if they put a new sim in the phone it won't work. Then they'll send dd a new sim card with her existing number and credit on it.

Full marks to Virgin, they were very good.
