I have got an interview tomorrow morning (gulp!!). It's a Sunday job in a local Estate Agents, which should be good and quite interesting if I get it. Part of me is excited - part of me is terrified!!! Just need a bit of moral support .

all the best

Bomper · 24/01/2006 18:05

Suddenly realised this afternoon that I had nothing but 'mummy' clothes to wear to the interview. So had to dash out and buy some. Better blummin' get it now - the amount I spent!!

Good luck bomper!
What are you wearing?
How long since you worked last??

desperatehousewife · 24/01/2006 18:17

lots and lots of luck. Just be yourself and remember all those additional skills you now have since having a child:

  • negotiation skills
  • multi tasking
  • time management
  • patience
  • diplomacy

seriously - play it up.

good luck

Bomper · 24/01/2006 22:21

Thanks everyone. Moondog, I am wearing black wideleg pinstripe trousers, and a fine knit V-neck pink jumper. Does that sound OK? Wanted to be smart without looking too severe iyswim!!
And it has been 5 years since I last worked so feel a tad rusty. I kinda know what they probably want to hear, as I was a Personnel Officer in my previous life and interview loads of people. Hope it helps me tomorrow!!

Good luck.

Aloha · 24/01/2006 23:45

Clothes sound perfect. Good luck, but I bet you don't need it

hunkermunker · 25/01/2006 13:18

How did it go, Bomper?

Bomper · 25/01/2006 17:18

Not too bad thanks Hunker . You can never really tell though can you? There were two more people for him to see, and he said he would let me know by Friday. TBH, it seemed more like a chat than an interview (don't know if that is a good thing or not!!). It's been a weird sort of day all in all, had to take dh to hospital at 12 today, as he is having 'the snip'!! Haven't heard anything yet and am getting a bit worried!! BTW, hope you and the baby are doing well HM.

Hope you get the job Bomper - please be an estate agent that phones people back! ha ha

Bomper · 25/01/2006 17:23

Well, that's what I sort of hope. Have had so many BAD experiences with Estate Agents, that I definately know what NOT to do iyswim!! I'd like to be the one that people say 'Blimey, what a nice Estate Agent'

OP posts:
KBear · 25/01/2006 17:32

They won't say that cos you will be charging them a fortune!!

Bomper · 25/01/2006 17:33

Glad to hear it went well, Bomper - fingers crossed.

Am loving having DS2 - he's lovely, really calm and feeding beautifully - even sleeps sometimes

hunkermunker · 02/02/2006 23:40

Have you heard anything, Bomper?
