is this just me, is it odd?

after reading another thread about storing toys it occured to me that maybe i am doing something different than evryone else in that i don't keep any toys downstairs.
ds1 and ds2 are 10 and 6 and all their stuff is in their rooms.
they bring stuff down but we take it back up after they have finished with it.
TBH even though they have tons of stuff they tend to be either doing something on the pc, watching t.v or playing rough games with each other!

We have loads everywhere.

i did actually leave them stacked up in the front room over christmas and they hardly played with them, just followed me around complaining generally so i shifted them all.

No don't think you're odd!! When Ds1 was about 6 all is toys were in his bedrom and he brought some down to play with.

ds2 (2 years) has some of his toys downstairs but most are upstairs and I bring down differnt ones every day. He has so many toys, he'd be overwhelmed if they were all downstairs.

I just love a nice tidy toy free living room in the evening!! The rest of the house looks like a bomb's hit thought

Ds just has his Thomas Train set in the family room. The idea is that everything else lives in his room, but TBH this doesn't happen except the night before the cleaner comes.

no its not odd. dd's toys are kept down here because she is two, gets bored very quickly and im not willing to run upstairs every five minutes to fetch some more. (lazy mother that i am). i keep all ds's toys upstairs and they have to be taken up every night. when dd is older it will be the same for her.

just depends on your house layout - we have toys in the front room, toys in the downstairs rumpus room and the 2 dds have really good toys in their bedrooms.
