ds2 thinks it is unfair adn he shoudl get moeny for his merits/gold stars.

Driving me mad.

He can't just be pleased that ds3 is doing so well.

Because he's artistic and sporty - one of the pitfalls of these talents. I sometimes look back at school and wonder how we managed in such close confines to each other - especially as we had several siblings in the school - extremely competitive

Heehee (sorry). I've been doing a sticker chart with ds2 to get him to use his cutlery to eat with. He's 4, perfectly capable, but bone idle and prefers to eat using his fingers. Sticker chart is working really well and he's had a little prize at the end of each week.

Ds1 wants a sticker chart too - and when I said "but you don't need one" he started using his fingers to eat too (he's almost 9). He got short shrift and no sticker chart

Sibling rivalry, eh? It's the pits.

Your post has made me remember (in an attack of utter childishness) how ticked off I was when my sister was given £100, yes £100, for stopping biting her nails. I, who had never bitten my nails, got nada. Sibling rivalry is the pits, I agree. Still if you can channel it into a clean house, why not?

Oh, yes the bitter jealousy when your brother gets something you don't!

My brother got bought a treat for not being violent and out of control. I wasn't violent and out of control, I didn't get a treat, therefore.... where was my incentive to behave myself? I got treated normally for behaving normally, he got rewarded for behaving normally, and from a 9 year olds standpoint, it is horribly unfair.

oh gawd, so do i reward them all for their achiements? I am goign to be broke!
