I never seem to get time to read books etc but will be going into hospital next week so fancy taking in a good book. Something like real life story would be nice. Can anyone recommend a good read.

Not read it yet but am busting to buy a copy of the Paula Yates story, something like, Bob, Paula and Michael, has great reviews. One of the only books I couldn't put down was 'Not without my daughter' rl story of american woman who married Iranian (I think) and was tricked into going over there only to be held prisoner, it's the story of her escape with her daughter, think she was called Betty Mahmood, fantastic book.

Sorry, meant to say hope all goes well for you in hospital next week.

Fatwa by Jackie Tremane (not sure about the spelling) was a good read. About a woman who went on holiday to Egypt, had a holiday romance with an Egyptian man and ended up marrying him.

Otherwise the best book I read in the last year was Case Histories by Kate Atkinson.

Have just finished The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffennegger which is absolutely wonderful - I didn't want it to end, it was that good.

Ev09, you make going into hospital sound almost desireable! Hope everything goes OK and you get plenty of rest and time to enjoy your new books.

I've been in hospital all this week and have read some great books:-

The Tenko club (by the same preson that wrote the book group, fab story about the lives of 4 women)

Life Swap by Jane Green (one single and one married mum with children swap lives, it makes you realise what you already have)

and

Louis Theroux - Travels in American Subcultures the call of the weird. (If you loved his tv shows its a lot like them and laugh out loud funny)

also, lots and lots of magazines!!! Good luck hope the foods not too grotty!
