Haven't done a proper grown-up jigsaw for about 20 years but suddenly have the urge! But I need one of those foldaway/roll-up mats - they get mixed reviews on Amazon so can anyone recommend one?

Also is Amazon the best place to buy jigsaws, or is there another website?

I think folders are better (MUCH) than roll-up matts.
We get jigsaw puzzles from the charity shops :).
They are in variety shops around here, otherwise. QD type places.

I just use a large piece of board that slides under the settee - I tried a couple of mats but didn't like them.

I buy jigsaws from Charity shops/fetes/etc as well. I quite often get new ones as well, not just well worn ones.

I suggest a folder rather than a roller too. Also you can rent jigsaws from the library often, or else charity shops is good too. Although I did buy a few lovely ones online, can't remember where tho.

I have a hard, foleder type, and it's MUCH better than dd's roll up felt effort, as long as your settee has a couple of inches clearance from the carpet, or you can't slide it away when you're not doing the jigsaw.
I second charity shops for jigsaws - there's always lots -often unopened - in there.

The Works - they have good jigsaws and often have the jigroll things too, much cheaper than Amazon.
