Is there a Household stuff topic - there should be. Anyway, what would you put in open shelves either side of your oven?

I have open shelves flanking my oven. Currently they are full of jars and bottles, looking a bit minging and messy. Do you think saucepans would look better? Can't ahve books as they will get greasy.
