Last year I organised a quiz night at school, for adults, as a social event. It went very well and they've asked me to do one again.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas for:

different cetegories for questions, something a bit different from the usual music, film etc

any unusual rounds (we did a part filled in monopoly board, then got teams to fill in the blanks)

or just any good questions!

or any pointers to good websites that may help me.

Many thanks!

my fav quiz question of all time - what was sold on the ground floor of Grace Bros?? for those old enough to remember Are you being Served.

Name the members of Monty Python?
photocopy pics of politicians to name - always got this wron in a pub quiz.

One school quiz I remember, they took photos of places in the locality and you had to work out where they were - either obscure things or well known places taken from an unusual angle. This was a village though - probably wouldn't work so well if people are coming from a broader area.

We have run several

We have group things (like monopoly board, James Bond Questions etc) to break ice & get chatting. These are available from when people arrive & are collected mid way through evening.

A ggod one is guess the film from slides where heads are missing from the actors!

We always have music rounds - spot the intro, TV themes, Eurovision etc.

We run "Quiz n Chips" & have chips delivered to venue. Order OAP portions, charge £5per head, provide soft drinks, bread & butter, mints & prizes. Still makes a good profit.

Oh, and flags around the room - guess the country.

Collect pictures of logos (cars, sports equipment, brand names etc) and show a portion/all for guess the product.

We ran the Amarillo DVD and they had to list everyone they saw - that was hilarious!

  • usual rounds of sport, geography, history, general knowledge etc.
