Dog poo rant!!!

My parents just dropped in and managed to tread dog poo all over my living room floor. Because some stferbrains irresponsible dog-owner has let their beloved pooch cp right outside my front door, various people have already stood in it so it's spread all over the pavement (door opens straight onto street from front room - no buffer zone). So after I had cleaned inside I was out on the pavement with bleach and hot water trying to swill it away before dh brings some in too.

I am not well, already feel like death warmed up..spent Monday night with the lovely sickness and diarrhoea bug that seems to be doing the rounds, spent last night looking after ds1 as he threw up about a hundred times. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CLEAN UP AFTER OTHER PEOPLES' FLAMING DOGS!!!!

Do you think the same people who let their dogs poo on the pavement, in parks, and on school playing fields would be quick to object if I threw the contents of my toddler's dirty nappies out on the street?

OOOOOOOH...I HATE THEM!!!!!!!

OK, need to lie down now. Rant over.

They have a dispenser thing in our park with plastic bags in but no one seems to know where you get a key from. Not even the council so that is, pardon the pun, a bit of a sh*t idea! Well in our park anyway.

I live by the 'beach' in Essex and you are not allowed to walk dogs on it at certain times or you will be fined 400.00. But, I would like to know who imposes this. Most of the time in Winter, the beach is empty. I think the best thing was as someone says, get the public to photograph them and give them half the dosh. Bit big brother, but I bet it would work.

Oooh Wiltshire!

I live by the seaside in Essex too - I'm based in North East Essex.

Where we are, dogs are allowed on the beach between 30 September and 1 March - from then on banned.

I love the beach in winter time - get the whole place to yourself

Clarinet60 · 15/11/2003 14:21

mmmm, holidays in Devon and Cornwall in summer. Dogs banned mostly, but dogs still on beaches, beaches still full of dog poo. GRRRRRRR!

misdee · 15/11/2003 14:29

m2t, i used to live near a park, some kids put a firework in the dog poo bin, so the whole area that i walked thro was covered in bags of dog vrap. not nice. another place i lived u couldnt walk thro the back lan as it was covered in dog poo, made me sick.

Angeliz · 15/11/2003 14:33

i walk my dog in a park and always pick his poo up! The bin for dog poo was burned out a few weeks ago so i have to put it in a normal bin! Why do kids do that? It is so ridiculous!

My solution is to make animal owners (dogs and cats)pay for a licence. The revenue could pay for our streets to be cleaned of dog shit and for wardens to check for licences. I dont see why my money should go towards it, it's up to the owners to take responsibility. There again, now days most people dont take responsibility for anything but that's another rant.

If all dog poo was illuminous graffitti the gov would do something about it.
We can't they sort out the DG offenders?????

wiltshire · 16/11/2003 02:25

Slinky, my god, someone who actually admits to living in Essex. Where are you girl, I am between the 'pier & the Yacht club'.

bunny2 · 16/11/2003 11:54

Wiltshire, change your name to Essex at once!!

I'm from Essex and proud of it.

Clarinet60 · 16/11/2003 13:57

notlob, that's a very good point.

Slinky · 16/11/2003 14:06

Wiltshire

I live in (she whispers quietly as slightly embarrassed..Clacton! )

I'm proud to be an "Essex girl" - and I'm a "Colchester girl - born and bred"

wiltshire · 16/11/2003 14:32

Am in Sunny Southend. Am not from Essex though but have now dyed hair a bit blonder so I fit in and nobody would ever know that I am from Hertfordshire.

misdee · 16/11/2003 21:03

herts is better

wiltshire · 17/11/2003 16:06

I know

The reason for Southend is because the journey into London by train is only 1.5k. From most places in Herts that I would want to live it's about 3.5k plus the houses were more expensive. So it was a financial choice really. But I have to say I have been here 2 years and absolutely love it. Sod snotty Herts. Sarfend is where it's at.

misdee · 17/11/2003 16:24

hehe. fair point. but welwyn
is lovely

bunny2 · 17/11/2003 19:41

One of me best mates lives in Southend, she's dead cool and insists it's a swinging place.
