I am wanting to store a load of stuff onto CDs ... photos mainly .... but I am really confused ...
what's the difference between :

DVD - R, DVD + R, DVD - RW and DVD + RW ????

I went into Tesco and there were sooo many - I didn't know which one to go for ...

Any ideas ?

Thanks

If you want to put stuff onto CDs you need either CDRs or CDRWs.

CDRs you can only write the info to them once (they can't be erased) whereas CDRWs can be used as many times as you like (rewriteable).

DVD+/- R/RWs are for writing stuff like videos on (they cost more than CDs) The write/rewrite thing works the same way and the +/- thing is just different formats that are compatable with different dvd players.

what would I need for photos then ??
Are CDs enough ?
Thanks

I would just buy some CDRs. You can only use them once but I'm guessing you'll want to keep your photos on them forever anyway.
