Dh said lets go to the pub for a drink and a chat. So I went . And he spent all night talking to a mate about bloody rugby. What is it about the stupid game? He thinks he's had a good night and now wants sex. Urgh!!

Sorry Lethal, we heard a lot here about the Australian press really slagging off England to a massive extreme but can't say first hand of course.

Move over Beckham is all I say, Johnny is tops and he can kick with his left and right foot! Why is it that the tournament is over when I am starting to understand it a bit more. I was so excited this morning, me and dd (2) screamed the housedown with Johnnies dropkick - England so deserved to win and rightfully done so. I also love the physical side of this and some of the players have great butts!

How tense was that? Still feel wired to the eyeballs!

Davros and Lethal, you are both right ...
The Aussies were the underdogs and did brilliantly to get to the final ... and the Australian press did say that and that the English were the favourites to win ...
However ... there has been an awful lot of slagging off and criticism of the WAY that England play the game ...that it is boring rugby by the way they strangle the oppositions with the scrum and defence, using too much of Johnny (though how it is possible to have too much of Johnny I don't know ) and his drop kicks, not being able to score tries etc .....
Of course, no one can say now that last night's game was boring .... everyone I have spoken to today has said that it was the most nailbiting game played for a long time.

Lethal ... you are right ... the Aussie's did brilliantly ... it could have gone either way and Elton Flatley did a fantastic job of his penalties too ... The teams were evenly matched and had the Aussie's won they would have deserved it as much as the English ....

We still Whipped your bums though

YEAH! Go England!

Just got back from staying with friends. Were up early on Saturday morning drinking bucks fizz and eating croissants during the game. I don't normally watch any sport to be honest but was gripped - so exciting and tense. The boys were on their knees hardly daring to watch towards the end, bless them. They were on a high all day - drinking and watching the replays/hi-lights. Even DD joined in with the clapping and cheering.

BIL in in Australia at moment living with his Aussie girlfriend and her family. I think they threatened to send him home!!!

Lethal · 23/11/2003 22:22
