Dh said lets go to the pub for a drink and a chat. So I went . And he spent all night talking to a mate about bloody rugby. What is it about the stupid game? He thinks he's had a good night and now wants sex. Urgh!!

DS is going to wear an england shirt to a party today and has been practising his 'ingerland' chanting!!

Ghosty · 21/11/2003 21:11

Excellent Sibble ... knew I could rely on you

Norma · 21/11/2003 21:15

Of course Ghosty! I'm on waitress duties (beer and cooked breakfast), but will be taking sneaky looks and praying for the boys.

Davros · 22/11/2003 11:57

God, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Jonny.

Ghosty · 22/11/2003 12:01

Absolutely Sibble ...
It is nearly 1am here and I can't believe the rollercoaster ride that was that Final! You couldn't write a script for it! Wow ...

Well done England ... I feel very homesick but feel so proud ...

The NZ commentator just said, "This is the first major sporting tournament that England has won since 1966 when the England Football team won their FA Cup final back home" ... Ha ha ha

And Johnny ... what can I say ... except ... I love you ... !!

CountessDracula · 22/11/2003 12:04

Can't believe actually saw Johnny smiling! Yay well done Engerland!!!!! That ref gave us NOTHING, bloody pocked full of Aussie $ if you ask me...

Norma · 22/11/2003 12:07

gutted that DP was at pub watching such a fantastic game and I was left looking after DS (although I love him to bits today would still rather have been in pub)

DP has just phoned and sounds very drunk

Boot1 · 22/11/2003 12:19

I am so proud of our boys even though not a big rugby fan (although I do enjoy looking at their legs and lycra tops).

Ghosty · 22/11/2003 12:22

The NZ commentator also just said that Johnny 'has the best tackle in the world too' ...
With that thought I am off to bed

Carla · 22/11/2003 12:23

Sorry Davros, he's mine. I'm working on my stalking plan as we speak ...

Davros · 22/11/2003 12:35

Those lycra are an improvement (at least on some of them )

wilbur · 22/11/2003 13:18

Hooray, hooray, hooray. Jonny is the MAN! Just got back from watching in the pub. Thought dh was going to have a stroke, thought I was too. ENGERLAND!

Eulalia · 22/11/2003 14:41

OK I am really glad that England won (even though I am Scottish) but what gets me is that the press and media will go On and ON and ON .... about it for about the next 50 years like they did with the football - 1966 when half the population watching football weren't even born....

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......................

3GirlsMum · 22/11/2003 14:55

I dont normally watch Rubgy but must admit it had me hooked. And my DH, who is a fotty fan normally was on the edge of his seat and said it was far better than football!

WSM · 22/11/2003 16:13

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DH had to watch it with the sound off for fear of him expiring right there on our living room carpet !

Davros · 22/11/2003 16:22

At least the Press here go on and on and on about winning AFTER the match, not before like the Ozzies (big egg on faces iyam)

Ghosty · 22/11/2003 18:58

The Aussie Mumsnetters are being very quiet ...

sibble · 22/11/2003 20:29

was so hyped couldn't sleep for hours last night. so wanted to be at home at in pub with DH and friends (although in reality he would have been in pub and I would have been at home) but rose tinted glasses and everything I was dancing in the streets of London with a glass of wine in my hand!! and a fine time I was having too. Dh was good though first time in nearly 4 years he has given me a lie in, didn't get up until 9 o'clock.

Lethal · 22/11/2003 22:39

Have only just logged on Ghosty!!

Congratulations to England but you have to admit it was a VERY close game... I think the Wallabies also did brilliantly.

Don't really agree with you there Davros - the Aussies were saying right from the beginning that we were the underdogs in this rugby series. Even before the game here last night, the commentators were saying that England were the favourites to win, but Australia put up a great performance in my opinion.

We did win the Rugby World Cup a few years ago too, don't forget
