Thought it was time to do this thread-am always thinking of ideas for new 'other subjects'thread as it's my favourite thread.

I have been a mumsnetter for it must be 4 years now and first read about it in I think an observer article.

Oh should say I came here from a link on the GBSS website, this was something I was terribly worried about at the time and Mumsnet provided some much needed reassurance and light relief.

texan bars...you are the only person i know who seems to remember.....(not that a know you!!!).i found mumsnet through a search for the Hib booster and then was so releived that it wasn't just me worrying and have been hooked ever since......best thread is a hard one, but i loved a one called "i love.",(i think), all the personal little things our babies do

Hi Batey, how y doin-bought any fat face clothes lately?I l remember the horse one,and Tinker had me in hysterics with her comments.
Yes berries I'm still around, enjoying it more now than the early days-it seems more friendly now and I don't feel like doing a strop these days.I've grown into it it feels like an old wooly jumper now.

I actually can't remember when I discovered MN - I think it was about 1 year ago, and I was searching for advice on weaning, I think. I can't recall! Being the selfish person that I am, my favorite threads are the ones that I start - that are extremely helpful to me

willow2 · 12/11/2003 16:15

About three years, but didn't post for quite a while as too nervous! (And just look at me now, Ma.)

Can't remember how I found the site - by chance through a search engine I think.

batey · 12/11/2003 16:49

....am waiting for the Fat Face sale now Layla!!

bobsmum · 12/11/2003 16:58

Just searched for me on the search board thing. It looks like I first posted in April, but I know I've been lurking for way longer than that.

Did a search for Gina Ford and got her transcript of the live chat from way back.

Ok so I am a bit bored and tired at the mo, fed up with tv, need to keep myself awake !!! Finding things to post on!!!
Came on here ooh about 10 weeks ago through ask jeeves and so far haven't left!!! There should be an addiction warning!!

Slinky · 11/12/2003 22:27

After I left UKP in January after the usual cat-fights, I googled for "parenting" and voila!

Been here ever since - by far one of the most friendliest sites I've visited (not too difficult after UKP )

melsy · 11/12/2003 22:32

Wots UKP???

anais · 11/12/2003 22:45

I've been here about 3 1/2 years, apparently - can't remember how I got here.

There are so many great threads on here, too many to choose a fave.

lailag · 11/12/2003 22:54

did an internet search on baby back pack around sept/oct, dh and ds not happy as I am addicted (ds gets fobt off with "I have to do some work now...)

pie · 11/12/2003 23:00

Just looked through my posts, apparently I've been here for just over 2 years, though I confess leaving the fold for a while in the middle.

I too have NO idea how I found this place!

samACon · 11/12/2003 23:02

only since August, and I read an article in (I think) Practical Parenting. When I popped in for a look the first thread I saw was about Buffy so haven't left yet!

Clairabelle · 11/12/2003 23:06

found it while doing a search on Omneo comfort, think its fab only been doing it about a week and addicted already!

pupuce · 11/12/2003 23:15

Oldie here
Been for 4 years and discovered it via a friend who no longer posts ! Been addicted (DH says our sex life would be MUCH better without mumsnet,.... yeah right.... OK maybe he has a point he is in bed and I am posting )

elena2 · 11/12/2003 23:18

The nursery where I work had some posters up promoting the Mumsnet book, and as I had ds1 and was pregnant with ds2 at the time, thought it might be an idea to have a look...

6 months later, I still come on most days to have a look at what everyone's up to!

V addictive! And some fantastic advice and support on here too.

bossykate · 11/12/2003 23:21

janh · 11/12/2003 23:27

I found it in the Guardian I think - the weekly Editor used to have a column of good websites and I think this was in there - about 3 years ago - good grief!

polly28 · 11/12/2003 23:30

Probably about 8 months now,I heard about it from the sunday times mag.
Have to thank jimjams and robinw for being a fantastic source of information and support.Have to have a lurk every night before I lay me down to sleep!

popsycal · 11/12/2003 23:34

lavender1 · 11/12/2003 23:35

About 3 weeks, children were winding each other up big style, bedrooms very messy...so typed in how to get children to tidy bedrooms and here it was. It really is the best website I have found as when feeling you're the only one with mad children you find you are completely the same as other parents....and love the ability to discuss any subject here.
