Need to ask a silly question

I want to bid on a couple of dvds on ebay but some say they are for widescreen tv - i do not have widescreen tv and wondered if they would still be ok to play on a normal tv. Sorry to sound so thick but I really dont have a clue.

I suspect they will play OK, but you might lose a bit of the picture at the sides.

topmum, I download films in widescreen from filmflex - They just don't fill the screen. Hope they are a bargain- you can buy lots of cheap DVDs at Asda or Silverscreen etc
