ones I have defined - like passwords that I've misspelled so you end up with a list of misspelled names but you only require one

You mean like the google search text box, or fields in a form? If so....

To get rid of individual words in internet explorer you:

  1. Double click on the text box to get the drop-down list.
  2. Move mouse to highlight wordd
  3. Press Delete key

Haven't found out how to do it in Firefox yet.

JoolsToo · 12/01/2006 22:34

okay found it - thanks!

Microsoft Internet Explorer users

To clear the AutoComplete Settings, follow the below steps.

Open Internet Explorer
Click the Tools menu and then Internet Options.
Within the Internet Options window, click the content tab.
Click the Autocomplete button.
Within this window you can click Clear forms to clear all form data except for passwords and/or click Clear Passwords to clear the passwords. In addition to clearing these fields, if you do not want Internet Explorer to save this data in the future, you may uncheck any of the available boxes in this window.

Don't right click, don't click at all. Just hover and press Delete key

JoolsToo · 12/01/2006 23:37

LOT - too late I've deleted them all now.

The Microsoft instructions worked

JoolsToo · 12/01/2006 23:51

I'll try your method properly if I need to delete more in the future - thanks!
