What suggestions for a workout DVD.....

Redtartanlass · 12/01/2006 20:12

Watched that top 10 of Work-out videos last night and am greatly tempted to buy one as I don?t get enough exercise, well in fact don?t get any exercise. Used to go swimming everyday and play hockey every week as well as squash and going to the gym!!! Now I have the babies I do diddley squat and am suffering the consequences!!

I hate walking and all the other activities I used to do are out the window ?cos of babies, so I thought I?d try a workout video. However I want one that isn?t gimmicky and has only been released for the ?celebrity? to make some money!!

Any suggestions?

The 3 best are
Bev Callard
Davina McCall
Nell Mcandrew
I am also contemplating it as a cheaper alternative to gym...

i used to have an elle mcpherson video which was REALLY good... you do have to have a reasonable fitness level to start with though i think, because there was no way on earth i could do the whole thing when i first got it! lol

Redtartanlass · 12/01/2006 20:25

The number 1 dvd on the show last night was Bev Callards. Starlover they said the Elle Dvd was for adolescent boys

I bought the Charlie Brooks - Before and after .
You can see that it has made a difference to her (Janine out of Eastenders) but she says she started in 2004
I have managed the warm up

jstbcs · 12/01/2006 21:17

I bought the Davina one (not her new one) before christmas....

its great... well it LOOKS great.. its still in its wrapper.....

I was thinking about getting one too. The girl who was in Corrie and then Cutting It (Angela Griffin I think) was on Lorraine this morning promoting hers and it looked quite good. She said it was dancing but exercising all the right bits at the same time.

Redtartanlass · 12/01/2006 21:27

jstbcs lol, I'm worried that I'll end up only doing it once, that's why I need some advice on a good one.

Yeh, thanks a bunch Milliways . That is too cheap to resist. I might have to resort to actually doing some exercise now! Will let you off though as you gave me the link to Matthews Holidays and our fabulous holiday in France last year.

Piffle · 13/01/2006 09:34

I'm biking to aldis NOW!

katierocket · 13/01/2006 09:36

Davina is really good - I have both of hers. She's kind of normal. Personally I thought Nell McAndrew's were dreadful. In fact I have 2 of her DVDs and you can have them if you like (both brand new, one unopened, one used once).

Piffle · 13/01/2006 11:33

I got davinas one the new one
will open it later on
I've never done one before but figure cheaper than getting gym membership
I might be interested in Nells ones for diversity
can you explain a little more why they did not suit you??

Redtartanlass · 13/01/2006 22:12

Drat Drat Drat, forgot to go to Lydils

katierocket - think I'll take your advice on the Nell and stick with Davina

Piffle [impresed emoticons] good for your cycling there!! How was it, the dvd not the cycling

imo as a fitness instructor i enjoy going to classes as well as teaching them too. Classes are great to keep you going along with everyone else.
