do you ever hit the ground?

theres a theory that you will never hit the ground in a dream cos otherwise you will die. so has anyone hit the ground?

Don't know, but I regularly fall off kerbs as I am dropping to sleep and wake up with a jolt!

Rhubarb · 09/01/2006 10:41

Yup, I trip over in my sleep too, can't remember hitting the ground, but presumably I wouldn't be here if I did!

misdee · 09/01/2006 10:43

Gawd, maybe if you die in your sleep at an old and wrinkly age it is because you actually hit the canyon floor!

misdee · 09/01/2006 11:36

thats what isaid to peter, we cant ask the dead if they hit the floor in thier dreams lol.

Thats clearly a question for Derek Acorah!

eldestgirl · 09/01/2006 11:51

I thought dreaming of falling is actually caused by a physiological disorder, ie sleep paralysis?

PeachyClair · 09/01/2006 12:16

I don't dream of falling and I get sleep paralysis BUT maybe I just don't remember the dream. Who knows?

I thought a dream of falling represented the notion that you were 'freefalling' through life and lacked purpose and direction? On that basis, landing might just represent finding your way?

Caligula · 09/01/2006 12:27

I reckon when you hit the floor you wake up and you've fallen out of bed.

starlover · 09/01/2006 12:40

i haev heard that too misdee! apparently the shock of it in your dream acn be enough to give you a heart attack and you die.

but of course, no-one really knows if it's true or not do they!

(i've never hit the ground btw)
