haven't a clue what is wrong. I hve to turn it off then on again and it picks up where it left off. Loathe to pay a man to look at it though while I can still make it work in some way!

Something has probably 'blown' on the control panel so it's not continuing the entire programme. Just a guess.

PeachyClair · 08/01/2006 19:40

Cold be as simple as some dirt on the control dial that is jamming it. If it's picking up where it left off it shouldn't be too serious, you can't have blown anything and all the circuitry is functional (although thinking about it maybe it's the timer skipping, or even the filter... sometimes if they're blocked the machine does this? Have you checked?).

I bet you'll get the answer on here tonight, but if not I'll get DH to e-mail you... circuitry is his thing. I'm not a bad technician (amazingly!), but he's a whizzkid. I shall check MN tomorrow am for you (he's just left for work).

Mine does this when it is 'overloaded',ie when there are more than half a dozen items of clothing in it.

It's not a Bosch one is it? Mine is & I'd never buy one again.

Mirage - funny you should say that as it had crossed my mind. It did a full cycle the other night when I just put dd's bedding in. Dh tends to cram it in so i think it might be that. will have to try on a very small load to see.

Could be an unbalanced load?

Or possibly, it's the darn fluff filter. How often do you open that little trapdoor at the bottom of the machine and (tray underneath to catch the water if there's still some in the machine) and pull out the strange, banana looking filter which will be covered in junk and wet fluff... It's a yeuch job, but it's what I eventually discovered was stopping my old faithful zanussi washing machine some time back...

Helsi, did you sort it or do you need detailed technical stuff?

fastasleep · 10/01/2006 15:21

Mine does this when a small monster creeps out and presses a button that looks like this - ||/>
