Really missing dd now back at work :-(

Had such a lovely xmas and NY, she is back at nursery and I am back at work and I MISS HER

Aw, first day back. I hate it.

My ds said to me this morning
'sometimes I feel really funny at school'

What sort of funny?

'Well, sometimes I think about you and I miss you SO much and it makes me feel funny...'(cue wobbly bottom lips from us both)

ahh puddle am almost blubbing at my pc now

She was very jolly about it this morning so I'm sure she's fine but I still miss her like mad. I will plan a really nice day on Friday (my day off)

Its awful, dd is 7 months and this is my first full day away from her, poor little mite has a horrid cold and cough too so is really clingy. I'm sure she will be fine as she's with her gran, but I want to cuddle her!

Feeling the same. Ds was so playful this morning and now I am sitting here shoving paper around. Boo.

God, sorry CD. He did go merrily into the classroom in the end!

I am sure your dd is having a great time at nursery and seeing her friends again.

I feel quite strange too It seems like ages since I was at home with my 2! dd cried when I took her in but settled down when I took her down to play with ds
It is her birthday on Thursday & am feeling guilty at not being at home whith her then too

oh dear perhaps i should start a different thread but i felt so heartwarmed this am to see ds sitting on the floor happily playing with Clare (nanny) and even more heartwarmed when I shut the door on them both and went off to p&q at work after 10 long days of family...

Had to wake both mine up at 7am as they have to go at 7.30am and dd1 was all sleepy on my shoulder going 'what are we doing today mummy?' and I was .

Allllll holiday she has been going on about liking it when mummy doesn't work etc.

And dd2 wailed and reached out for me when dh took her off to the car.

But I am telling myself I only do 3 days which is less than most etc but it is still hard.

I only do 3 weekdays and a Sunday,I hate leaving DD, I practically skip up the path to collect her!

Keep telling myself its for the best in the longterm though

Can you cut down your hours? But wait a couple of weeks before you decide as I think it's always extra bad just after the hols

I am already p/t (4 days a week)
May see if I can go down to 3 soon

I'm also struggling today, I can't wait to get out of here and pick ds up. He cried today when we left him and tried to climb back into my arms.

I didn't really have doubts about going to work and really believed it was best for both of us until today....!

CD - many, many sympathies

Today's my last day at home with them! Off to work for me tomorrow and back to school for them

I'm gutted about it TBH, really terribly depressed which is not like me at all!

I know it would be pointless me being at home, because they are at school most of the time - but I can't get the option out of my head at the moment!

Hopefully we'll all settle back down to normal soon Do you fancy a coffee sometime next week and we can chew it over in RL?

Today was our last day together - off to school for ds1 and I'm at work tomorrow (my one day in the office this week, and I have to say I'm rather looking forward to it).
