have just taken the christmas decs down and I have found some smoke marks up a painted wall where a couple of candles were burning - any ideas as to how I can get rid of these marks without making it look worse ??

Thanks

You could try Cif or similar - failing that, Janh - queen of stain removal might know a magic solution though.

white vingar

We have these as well - either side of our mirror above the fireplace - I tried cleaning them with cream kitchen cleaner at the time (if I remember rightly!!!) and made it worse, so I'd wait to see if anyone else has any ideas.

(They've been there since before DD (4.10) was born and will still be there until we repaint, I fear!!!!!!!)

better not try that then.

Hi Aero

Have you shifted it yet, CT? (And if you tried trace2's suggestion I do hope you used white vinegar and not wine )

If not, have you got a microfibre cloth? I have found that one of those, just wet, using no cleaner, will shift dirt other cloths don't touch even with cleaner - worth a try and couldn't make it any worse. (If you haven't got one, you can get one in any supermarket I think.)

Hi Jan - knew you'd have a better idea than me!
