... my children are pathetically finiky when it comes to food with an "I don't like it" attitude with new things. Shall I play it safe and serve them cod which they will eat or shall I sneakily serve them fresh tuna steak and hope they don't notice?

Part of me thinks it will be a waste of tuna and that I should freeze the extra steak and part of me thinks I should do it...

Do it

One of mine loves it one hates it - but we'd never have known if we hadn't tried it on them!

Curiously it is the fishlover who hates it and the one who is normally a bit funny with fish that loves it

How strong are you feeling ???

If they refuse the tuna and you fling it across the room - I'd go for the safe option ....

Neither or mine eat any fish - so count yourself lucky

Do it, ds amazed us all by eating sword fish last summer....and he is as finiky as they get!

It's a more meaty texture than "normal" fish - that might be it.

My gut feeling is to try it but it'll seem such a waste when I throw it away though

Might have to lie and not tell them what it is though. DS1 doesn't like tinned tuna (which is, obviously a completely different kettle of fish!)

If it's lovely fresh tuna steak I wouldn't waste it on them, I'd cook it rare when they'd gone to bed.

Have chopped it into chunks, coated it in polenta and fried it... looks like chicken nuggets Have said nothing about what it is though...
