This is commented on, but am 1st time mum @ 40, no previous interest in kids, DD is 16 months and vocab @ 200+ words, am getting paranoid because MIL says she should still be a baby. Help very inexperienced when it comes to kids.

When my DD1 was 16 months you could have a conversation with her. People used to comment on how wonderful her talking was for her age. It just shows that you have put a lot of time and effort into her. Well done you and dont let MIL put you off, you are obviously doing a fantastic job.

singyswife, thank you! Ihave felt like a taskmaster! My DD loves to talk and is very frustrated if I don't understand, I am so glad 2 hear from you. Does your DD just love to communicate with everyone?

Yes she does, especially adults. She is 4 now but she was very like you are describing your daughter. If you didnt understand her she got very frustrated. She was always chatting and using words and sentences which shocked everyone. Keep up the good work!!!!!!
