Anyone know the ratio of vinegar:water:essential oil for making a cleaning fluid in a spray bottle?

Well, my lovely MIL gave me the "how clean is your house?" book ( and she wonders why i was annoyed) and i had a good look in it for you, but, although they do mention vinegar as a cleaning agent, no mention is made of the ratio to water. Sorry.

I use half vinegar, half water. If you're adding essential oil then just a couple of drops in the bottle once you've mixed the vinegar and water.

The Women's Environmental Network do a factsheet about this sort of thing.

Does anyone know where you can buy borax please? Is it the sort of thing that a more traditional chemist would stock?

Lmccrean · 31/12/2005 11:35

borax here

Boots have borax in their householdy bits section.
I got some to make a difference to the stains in my bath but it didn't work. What else can it be used for?

Thanks, managed to get some in Boots. It's one of my NY resolutions to try and be a bit more eco-friendly with cleaning, recycling etc.

Cadeauxbury, you can use it for cleaning floors , paintwork, windows - even for soaking clothes (according to the back of the packet, whether it works or not is another matter entirely)!
