What does 'trolling' mean??

Hi....fairly new to mn...posted a couple of threads this week....now I don't mean to come across as thick but what does trolling mean??

A troll is someone who comes on an internet forum and posts nasty comments with the intent of upsetting people.

Sometimes they will come on and appear normal and post a heart rending story of how something terrible has happened to them - they're getting beaten up, their child has dies, they have cancer, etc. People give them loads of support and it turns out it was all lies. They get off on the attention.
