Our neighbour had a baby boy a couple of weeks ago but they have been living in hospital as the baby was born 'floppy' (apparently this is a condition some babies are born with?)

We don't know our neighbours well - just to say hi to - but we wanted to send a card to acknowledge the birth. We were very worried after a few days when they hadn't come home as it was obvious something was wrong. We've found out bits from another neighbour who they speak to and we know the family are now home.

Now......what do I write in my card? I want to congratulate them but also let them know we are thinking of them as this baby will struggle for a while.

Any idea's????

Agree - a straightforward congratulations would be fine.

Oh right, that what dh thought but I thought as they are aware we know, that we should put an extra note in there, sort of saying we're here if you need anything???

Thanks for your advice

I'd add the extra note, to be honest. Something like "Congratulations on the birth of your baby, thinking of you at this joyous but difficult time".
