survivor there is a thread further down on here on moving to Ashford. Where are you moving from? I am moving down Kent soon, to the Canterbury area. We are moving from Staffordshire. I know there are a few mumsnetters who live in Asahford.

You could perhaps try a website called "upmystreet.com", and that gives you local information about an area. Obviously it's not the same as getting persoanl reccomendations, but may start you off.

I worked around the area for years but don't know about schools. Feltham itself is not that great but Ashford & Sunbury are better. I'll email a friend re schools and get back to you.

I'll be moving from Enfield, north london, near jt25 off the M25. I've had a look at the Spelthorne website it was very helpful. I've just checked the road map and the house is in the boundries of ASHFORD, near Sunbury Common, I hope thats a better area? going to check"upmystreet" now, thanks for the tips, keep them coming....

Planning to move to whitebridge close feltham tw14 with my 18 month old kid. buying around 400 k property but not entirely sure of the primary/secondary schools...and surroundings. Can anyone advise if its a good move as feltham has got a bad reputation. If not, which areas are recommended as me and my husband work in Central London and need good connections but school is an important criterion
