  1. The White Company

Ordered last weds, payed £7.95 for 2 day delivery and still not arrived. When I called them they said it was dispatched yesterday.

  1. www.facepaintshop.co.uk

Crap customer service, never answer the phone, ordered on 5 Dec and still not arrived. Didn't even dispatch until 16th Dec.

iwoot.com - didn't even bother to tell me items wouldn't be in stock until January until I asked. Then I saw they had come back into stock - after I've gone and bought them elsewhere at a higher price.

NutcrackingXmas · 22/12/2005 15:42

I ordered 2 items from Amazon and one was dispatched yesterday with a curior and arrived this morning.

The other item for some reason has been dispatched with Royal Mail and so I am not hopeful I'll get it in time.

Why not send them together ? I don't get it.

KeyserSoze · 22/12/2005 15:43

the trick with amazon is to do ltos of small orders all over £15 to get the free psotage
they cant cope wiht big orders imfo

hovely · 22/12/2005 16:27

Amazon amazon amazon.

And Two Left feet - this was years ago _ I am amazed they are still in business.

NannyL · 22/12/2005 20:16

what a good idea keysersoze (why oh why didnt i think of that?)

luckily they FINALLY did deliver mine on tuesday after nearly a month

can i add "letterbox" to name and shame on behalf of my aunt and uncle who TODAY found out that the fire engine they ordered back in November (and DS (aged 3) MAIN Xmas present would NOT be coming despite promise after promise)

thank god they found another company and are paying for 24 hour delivery and HOPING it arrives tomorrow. (fingers crossed)

I notice that amazon appear in this thread ALOT!

robinia · 22/12/2005 20:34

Another vote for Amazon - disappointing as they're usually very reliable.
Also Argos - "ring and reserve": I reserved an item last week, was told it would be available and when to collectit. When I turned up they said order was cancelled because item was out of stock - so what exactly is the point of ring and reserve?

yoyo · 22/12/2005 20:49

Amazon have been fine with us although DH opened the last parcel (we tend to do lots of smaller ones too) and has stashed it away so I haven't checked it yet.

Brightminds were great as my parcel was delayed and was told that if it didn't arrive by 4pm the next day they would send the order out to me again and guarantee 24 hr delivery. It arrived but I was impressed with their response.

Letterbox were awful a few years back as was the quality of stuff that did arrive. Have never ordered from them since.

tamula · 22/12/2005 20:55

I think Parcelforce/royal mail can sometimes be hit and miss dependant upon where you are based. When I lived in Camden the posty was a sticky fingered blatant theif.

Letters, Parcels and Packages would arrive opened or if he took a fancy didnt arrive at all.

My dear ole mother passed in Jan 03 so what turned out to be my last birthday card from her in Oct 02 was pinched by the light fingered scum-bag. I still feel cross about that sometimes. However where I am now in East London, the posty is not the most endearing person but he does his job and survives on his pay and not our mail.

Bellie · 22/12/2005 21:06

cucina direct - ordered on 2nd December online - got a letter that took 7 days to arrive (according to post marks) telling me that they are 'unable to fulfill my order, but we will not charge your credit card'. I should hope not!! Now have to find present for very difficult to find person tomorrow!! And get the turkey!

funnygirl · 22/12/2005 21:45

But just been speaking to pal who ordered X box (360?) for her son from play.com. She phoned them on the 20th and was told it was ready to be despatched. Today she received an e-mail saying refund was being processed. So she is mightly p**d off and no hope of getting another by Xmas.

rarrie · 23/12/2005 10:34

The gadget shop has just told me today (Friday 23rd Dec) that the product I ordered in NOV won't arive and I am now free to order elsewhere! grrrrrrrr

Cheers!

bauble99 · 23/12/2005 10:35

Amazon.

kelb6180 · 23/12/2005 10:38

play.com are bad anytime of the year, nevermind at christmas. I have a mate who has ordered loads from there and they say its quick delivery but can take up to a week and beyond.

If a company uses Royal Mail to deliver items (as most still do) then they will be late. There was a thing on the news last week about it. They facing real financial problems and what not.

Good luck too all that are waiting for items to be delivered though.

merrySOAPBOXingday · 24/12/2005 13:09

For those of you who have been let down by play.com, next time try Blah.com. They have been fantastic! If you use quidco you get 5% cash back too

Parcelforce have let me down big time. I ordered a camcorder from Amazon, which was meant to be delivered in time for Xmas on Wednesday. No sign of it so eventually went in person up to Parcelforce, as they weren't answering my calls, only for them to tell me that someone within the company must have nicked it as it was last tracked at their depot. Blimen great, I will now have no camcorder to film my ds this xmas.

Mercy · 30/12/2005 18:20

Just had to add to this thread, albeit late in the day.

An elderly friend of the family (mid 80's) orderd a gift voucher from Lakeland as a present for another friend.

The gift voucher cost £10 and delivery cost £3.95 She has queried it with them and has had no joy.

I am very on her behalf - even though I don't like her

Enid · 30/01/2006 11:17

Turns out that my Parcelforce parcel (the one to my dsis and BIL with all their Christmas presents including a picture I had stitched for my niece) was in a van that got stolen!

So we have put in a whopping claim
