A book or two ? If you buy in Tesco or supermarket they are much cheaper. Or WH smiths usually have buy 2 get one free.

Nice scented candles ?

Chocolates ?

15 pounds for stocking fillers - goodness I haven't spend that on PIL, BIL and SIL present put together - I must be tight.

Lots of chocolate?

anorak · 20/12/2005 08:56

Chocolates, little bottles of wine or beer, little something from the body shop, favourite magazine, lottery ticket inside a card.

csa · 20/12/2005 08:58

ooo.... lots of good ideas so far. keep them coming

bobbybobbobbingalong, that's because there are 9 people contributing to the stocking budget

Feel better now - I'll just find another 8 people. But why are you doing all the shopping if you only have a lunch hour - what are the other 8 doing?

Hand cream, lip balm. Miniature whiskey. Pens. Pack of playing cards. Satsuma.

MIstletAOU · 20/12/2005 09:34

Do adults get stockings? I dont.

csa · 20/12/2005 12:09

not usually but pil do cater for the lot of us (18 this year!) every year for the best part of a week and a few years ago, we thought it would be nice if santa pays them a visit.

Lottery ticket idea came from receiving a tenner's worth as an engagement present from a friend. The card read, 'Tacky, eh? But not if you win'.

DanceOfThePeachyPlumFairy · 20/12/2005 12:49

we also have adult stockings at my Mum's.

This year I have given various toiletries / a wind up cockroach for dad, kids have made fudge which they put inside home made crackers, DH ahs bought whoopee cushions.

But ours are deliberately joket stockings.

kateandfelicity · 20/12/2005 13:00

ISawFrannyandZooeyKissingSanta · 20/12/2005 13:24

I always get a stocking, and so does dp, one of my favourite parts of the day.

(you only get one if you still believe in FC )
