Ipod - how much memory

I brought dh one of those new slim ipod's with video for Christmas but I got the 30GB model. Should I take it back and get the 60GB instead and if so what colour ?????

I originally only meant to get the standard one, which was just over budget but I thought he would really like one. However they had none in stock so I thought why not and got the video one (nano?) but I ony got the 30GB one as that was expensive enough, but since you cannot upgrade the RAM should I go back and get the even more expensive one and worry about paying for it after Christmas (credit card).

I want him to be able to use it immediately so want to get it right first time and if he wants to upgrade it I might as well spend the money now (joint account).

HELP
Debbie

the video one is now the standard one. 30Gb should be enough to be going on with. We've got our entire music collection on a 20GB one (nearly 5000 tracks - would play for almost 14 days solidly) so with another 10GB there's room for photos and video clips (like from your digital camera). What's he mainly likely to use it for - if music then it's fine, if music and some photos and some video clips then also fine. But if he want's to download movies (which isn't ideal as the screen is small - watching it for 2 hours would seriously do your head in) then 30GB mightn't be enough.

I'd say you did good.

Now was it a white one or a black one you got....(kidding)

I agree with bear, 30gb is plenty. I have a 30, with about 2000 songs on it, loads of memory left, and more music than I can ever get around to listening to. I'm sure dh will be well chuffed.

Thanks a lot. It would be mainly for songs & just the odd video clip. but it is just the way everything mounts up and all the memory is gone before you know it.

I am now reassured and can say I have FINISHED my Christmas shopping

Thanks again
