Your home shopping delivery came and there was something in it with a "use by" date of the previous day, and when you rang up to complain there was out of date stock, they just giggled and said they'd refund the money and hung up?

I'd be fuming and then I'd post on mumsnet to ask 'what would you do if..'

Glitterygook · 18/12/2005 10:03

Write a strongly worded letter to HQ making sure to say I'd not shop there again and would be telling friends too.

jinglinggoblin · 18/12/2005 10:04

ring back and complain to manager. would want an apology and a replacement today (and vouchers wouldnt go amiss )

sevensuzyswongsaswimming · 18/12/2005 10:07

well for a start I'd name an d shame

Twiglett · 18/12/2005 10:09

remember its close to christmas and the telephone staff were probably having a joke / game in the office to brighten an otherwise miserable day of handling complaints

whilst not professional, I'd cut them some slack TBH after all you're getting your refund

Elf1981 · 18/12/2005 17:26

I think its the principal of the matter. I dont want vouchers or further monies, have had the refund and it was petty price really. But if Trading standards had seen these items on their selves past the use by date, it's a straight up £5000 fine!!

I would put it down to xmas frivolity too.

hercules · 18/12/2005 17:26

after cursing them

Hulababy · 18/12/2005 17:27

I'd complain in writing - more likely to get sent a money off voucher for your next shop that way.

NannyL · 18/12/2005 19:43

id call trading standards AND call again to speak to the manger and get the name and adress of head office and write them a very strongly worded letter as well!

Thats terrible. i would be SOO cross!
