I'm feeling the chill tonight so have heating on and gas fire on in the living room. Dh just came in and turned fire off. REckons noone has both on at he same time and says I should put a warm jumper on. I want to prove him wrong!

Do you have both on at the same time when it's really chilly?

We have the heating on and a lovely coal/log fire too - I keep the front room door open to stop the occupants passing out though - mind you I am also wearing a jumper (am starting a rotten cold )

Our house has cold spots whichever way the wind blows. I am the boss of the thermostat.

Every night i have both on! It's lovely and cosy but this house seems to need a lot of heat (it's old and the rooms are big). Also, the fire adds Christmassy atmosphere because it's a basket one in a stone surround - gas of course but open so looks real. Love it!

Tell dh to bog off!

we've got both on. love having open fire going.
Hoxtonchick - oooh, you must be FREEZING. when is engineer coming?

northerner · 17/12/2005 19:17

Yes our gas fire is open and it looks so cosy and relaxing. this is a Victorian house, rooms are big so it is quite chilly sometimes.

Fire is back on. Dh is upstairs avoiding the x factor

i was slightly exaggerating, but it's certainly on the blink. engineer coming on monday, we are going to the inlaws tomorrow, & suspect we'll all be in the same bed tonight. oh god.

Janh · 17/12/2005 19:18

hoxty, when are you getting it fixed?

Janh · 17/12/2005 19:18

hoXMASchick · 17/12/2005 19:18

christmasdinnyer · 17/12/2005 19:20

Glitterygook · 17/12/2005 19:21

LOL Hoxton - we put the oven on in the morning to heat the kitchen!!!

Blandmum · 17/12/2005 19:21
