newly decorated room, no longer have any stray nails around to tie things to. Whenever I've tried blutac they fall down. What do you do?

I use a staple gun, usually just attach half the staple wherever possible. Whole house in need of decoration though so I'm not too bothered about the after effects!

drawing pins, but they do leave marks

how big a mark for the drawing pins? Thinking of going to get some later.

You can get some special sticky things that are like blobs of that really sticky foam stuff, BUT they come off without leaving a mark. I think they are called TESA strips of something.

Personally I use a staple gun!!

We're not allowed to fix anything to the walls so we just have a tree and the mantelpiece lavishly decorated with lights and candles. But we do have some of those over-the-door hooks which are quite useful for hanging advent calenders etc without leaving a mark.

I've got oak beams and lintels so I'm sorted
