I'm trying to think of a Christmas present for a pregnant friend so thought I'd try here for some ideas... Very tight budget this year - £5

gift certificates from my favorite coffee shop. I used them while in hospital with my new baby. I would send dh out for good coffee which he brought back to my room. Very thoughtful gift as my friend knew how much I loved and needed coffee to get through the sleepless days.

Two close friends gave birth early in my pg, so they knew just what I needed . Among little things they gave me were magnesium tablets (had nasty leg cramps later on, so v useful), nice safe oil for bump, and a herbal tea mixture specially for pg.

How about a big bottle of body lotion - excellent for soothing stretched-to-the-limit belly skin and will make her feel a little better.

Or a tub of Sainsbury's Active Naturals brown sugar scrub, costs £4.99 and I wish I'd had some for my dehydratedly scaly (sorry) belly last time.

If she's close to giving birth, how about a small bottle of champers? Tesco do mini ones for £3.99 and I certainly needed a drink after giving birth!

A good book...if this is the first and she has time to read that is! Or if she is suffering from Insomnia like me.

Or else Chocolates, chocolates,chocolates!

have to say, i didn't use any of the skin products people got me... i had the most incredibly sore, itchy bump... everything made it worse! except boots calamine and glycerin cream
