Twiglett · 12/12/2005 21:52

Cons

DH doesn't want one
Don't have enough money
Don't do pregnancy well (get weird ailments)
Have 2 angel children, no way number 3 will be too
I'm no spring chicken
I put on a stone with every child
We have a chance of getting our lives back in a couple of years
Holidays, cars etc built around families of 4

Pros

I really really want another one

HELP...

Thats a good enough reason and totally outweighs all the cons.

at least thats what im kidding myself with anyway.......

OnZephyrstDayofXmas · 12/12/2005 21:54

Hmmm..... being pg with number 3 (unexpectedly!) will watch this with interest!!

All our cons are exactly the same as yours. So far my pro is that the nagging feeling in the back of my mind for 'just one more...' has very much gone!!!!

Roobietherednosedreindeer · 12/12/2005 21:56

My list is pretty much the same as yours I'm afraid. As far as dh is concerned I don't want another one either and I talk the talk with him about it saying that I don't want any more. But if he suddenly suggested it I would jump at the idea.

Roobietherednosedreindeer · 12/12/2005 22:03

Trying to think of some more cons to make us feel better ....

Won't be able to stretch to 3 sets of school fees if necessary.
Will eventually be lumbered with a 3rd horrid teenager - they're not gorgeous young children for ever.

Pros

Interaction between 3 is more 'interesting' than with 2
It's a cute little gang - a force to be reckoned with
There's lots going on, lots of noise, chatter, fun
You can fit 3 in the back of a 'normal' car
It's, er, um, just great!!!

Cons

It is absolutely exhausting
Life in general is more expensive
Getting out and about it just that bit more tricky
People say 'you've got your hands full' or 'I don't know how you do it' all the time - v. v. irritating

On balance, 3 is good for me - 2 just doesn't seem quite right, but I'm one of 3 and that's probably why.

Pros outweigh cons even if, when listed, there are less pros than cons iyswim!

Glitterygook · 12/12/2005 22:06

Pros

More chance of at least one of them not minding wiping your bum when old and infirm

Twiglett · 12/12/2005 22:06

let me point out that I have asked, cajoled, canoodled and the answer is always no way

to be fair it wouldn't technically need him .. because I have his 'boys' on deposit at the sperm bank .. but I feel he should at least be involved in some way

Don't do it. It's dangerous to have your children outnumber you and DH. They'll be plotting with flipcharts and marker pens and allsorts. Don't say I didn't warn you

Glitterygook · 12/12/2005 22:07

Hmmm. You have the power

Twiglett · 12/12/2005 22:08

I wanna baby .. I wanna baby .. I wanna baby

I do not want 3 x 4 year olds .. I think I've found the con to hang on to

Dont listen to hunker

SackAche · 12/12/2005 22:09

Twiglet - My Cons are much the same as yours.... and the pro is exactly the same! Although I don't want one for a year or so (til DH become friends again!).

BUT I just cannot imagine not trying for another one!!

merrycompo · 12/12/2005 22:09

go for your gut instinct, life is too short to have regrets Here's anwers to your cons:
DH doesn't want one - you'll convince him
Don't have enough money - you'll use all the stuff you've already got and it won't cost hardly any more
Don't do pregnancy well (get weird ailments) - you survived the last two!
Have 2 angel children, no way number 3 will be too - no.3 will be perfect too
I'm no spring chicken - ah go on go on go on
I put on a stone with every child - you can lose it afterwards and more, and you won't need to worry about it for another 9 months
We have a chance of getting our lives back in a couple of years - it'll be more fun this way
Holidays, cars etc built around families of 4 - get a 4x4

Did I convince you?

Twiglett · 12/12/2005 22:10

unfortunately can't get drunk and let nature take its course due to meds DH is on .. it would have to be cold and calculated planning

.. but an ickle baby guys .. an ickly baby

HunkerXmasAndAMunkerNewYear · 12/12/2005 22:11

Oh bloody hell, will I get broody again after this one's born?! Nooooo! I want there to be room for an armrest in the back of the car between my two, not a sibling to punch

Twiglett · 12/12/2005 22:12

compo .. I went blind in one eye (for 8 months) with DS, and developed pregnancy-induced asthma with DD .. if I ever get pregnant again I will probably suffer from pregnancy induced leg-falling off disease and find out that happens to 1 in 100 pregnant women too [gah]

SackAche · 12/12/2005 22:12

Cold and calculated sounds perfectly reasonable to me!

Twiglett · 12/12/2005 22:12
