I suggested a proposal but was told not to get my hopes up.. even when I tried the "But I'm just trying to make life easy for you darling, this way you won't have to trawl the shops" even that didn't work and he hates shopping!

So other than that I can think of the following things but these's nothing I can think of that I really really want

Sky+
A cleaner
Some decent kitchen knives (saw some lovely weighted ones in Debenhams) but kinda think they are wedding list stuff
A watch but it's too expensive
Maybe my colours done?
Vouchers to get my eyebrows done for all of next year
A new bottle of my day perfume

Just a grumble really

Ha ha MO'H re trying to hide price of bag. Your dp sounds very secure in the knowledge that you're going to stick with him regardless of proposal or any other sort of present. Do you think there's ANY chance he might have got you something fab and is being an ace bluffer? What did he get you last year?

Hotchaffinch · 12/12/2005 17:28

I agree Flamerobin

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 17:28

he didn't get me anything last year - we had just got back together after a long long split.

He won't have bought me anything special, he doesn't do thoughtful or surprises.

This is my lovely bag , I'm in love with it but the picture doesn't do it justice. Also was slightly cheaper in shop I bought it from - result.

Congrats on bargain MO'H, and on getting up to 30 posts already. This is what happens when you come up with such an ace MN name. Talking of which, FlameRobin, you need to challenge the chaffinch imposter to a fight NOW. Have to say, OliveOil was v nice and it was me feeling like a twit for not knowing she existed that made me change.

And MO'H, I trust that there are many wonderful things about this man, just not present-buying?

FlameRobin · 12/12/2005 17:37

pmsl - I read hotchaffinch but it didn't even dawn on me!!!

Becca81 · 12/12/2005 17:40

snowydelight · 12/12/2005 18:32

Anything from Jeremy Hoye (fab jewellers in Brighton)

UCM · 12/12/2005 18:39

I would like to

live in a village with loads of MN's who like art & craft, not have to work, have a craft studio, a nanny, make scones (ones people eat) wear an apron to bake, an aga and all of that crap, be thin, go to black tie do's occasionally, and all of that old shite that you read about in some books and I wouldn't mind a goat/chickens (remember the good life), an entire set of TG green china so that I can actually use it. I collect it at the mo and it's just the cream jug and mixing bowl that gets used in RL

In dreamy reality

Weekend in Health Spa (only if they give you unrestricted access to wine, no carrot juice)

Big diamond ring (couldn't wear it out of the house for fear of mugging, but would like one anyway)

In real reality

Not have to commute for 2 hours either way and work shifts.

Slim to a 16

Not stress about work/life balance, mine is crap.

Stop relying on Wine/fags cos' they are rubbish, but it's my only pleasure.

crimbocrazydazy · 12/12/2005 18:52

Flamerobin - couldn't resist....

MascaraOHara · 12/12/2005 18:56

cheers Custy, I needed that slap.

Lol Lio, he does have some good qualities - I just find it hard to list them when asked I guess we're just made for each other so you over look everything else. ahhhh next time I'm on here moaning about him remind me I said that.

i hope its something completly useless.

alLIOluia · 13/12/2005 09:02

I want UCM's dream life for Christmas now.

MascaraOHara · 13/12/2005 10:42

Still undecided. I did suggest dp took me away for a weekend last night but he just kind of sneered.

We were going to go shopping but I can't get time away from work and dd. I'll probably get nothing

Ta Luv, but it's not going to happen, never ever, so don't get down, go and get a Penny Vincenci novel and read it. For about an hour you can be absorbed into this life.....then think about Princess Di......and then, hey your life it just dandy.

I like my daydreams though and every christmas I think that DH is going to surprise me with something I really really want. He doesn't. He gets me something I would never ever use and don't like. We have been together 10 years now and he still does it. Bless him.

The very very worst one was when he handed me a brown paper bag and I thought 'oh gosh' but it was an egg slicer as he thought I could make my own egg & bacon sandwiches instead of buying them at M&S. Beat that!

TheVillageIdiot · 13/12/2005 19:40

PMSL UCM!!!!! and egg slicer, that's gotta win
