I had to do a "quick think" one morning when dd was heard to wail, "the tooth fairy's forgotten to come." Oops! Went into her room and, because she was lying across her pillow (sobbing!!) quickly hid the money under the bed in her doll's house. Silly tooth fairy had picked the wrong bed. Phew ...

DD's tooth fairy is called Pearl. I thought she was really clever as she found dd's tooth in a jewellery box in a drawer when dd forgot to put it under her pillow.

Sadly dd was so upset as she had actually purposely hidden it because she wanted to keep the tooth. Next night Pearl left dd a letter which explained that tooth fairies need the teeth as its an important ingredient of fairy dust. Still if dd really wanted to keep her tooth she should put the £1 back under her pillow and the tooth would be returned.

DD kept the pound.
