how do i change my letters characters as mine is so plain and boring and is it free too?

and anything more as im quite new to the msn messenger

Do you mean to change the font and colour or to add silly pics?

Go to edit and change font- you can change it from there. there are laods of little emoticons you can get. you get them either by buying them or- when on msn with someone - if they use them just right click the emoticona nd it'll give you an option to 'add'- follow the steps and then that'll be a shortcut in your msn so everytime you type in certain letters a little emoticon will pop up
