what a stupid title.
wanted to moan about the stupid kids today. there i was. driving along the A217. a forty road. the lights were red. so i stopped. the lights turned green so i started driving. at the end of theintersection, the lights for the pedestrian crossing were most definitly green, for the cars. and these bloody stupid kids decide to run accross the road. had to do an emergency brake. if id killed them, id go to jail fro their stupidity. so i rolled the window down and yelled/asked them if they were stupid idiots? got told to 'go home paki'.
boy and girl. fag in hand. boy holding girls hand, pretending to be a big man.
gggrrrrrrrr.......

how lovely. stupid. ignorant. and racist as well.

followthestarlover · 08/12/2005 20:25

bloody idiots. a 13 yr old boy was killed near here after trying to beat the lights...
they think they're invincible... but ythey're just ignorant.

NomDePlumPudding · 08/12/2005 20:27

happens all the time here, people just step out into the road

Although the one that really gets me is mothers with buggies who have the front wheel/wheels hanging over the kerb, on the road itself, whilst waiting for a space in the traffic. If a car was to clip the wheel, the buggy and baby would be goners &

as a driver it just really really annoys me that through no fault of my own, i could end up in jail for killing someone.

You're not the only driver who feels exactly the same.

NomDePlumPudding · 08/12/2005 20:30

what awful grammar, sorry !

stitch · 08/12/2005 20:31

isnt there anything that can be done ndp?

OP posts:
NomDePlumPudding · 08/12/2005 20:32

there must be, but I doubt it ever will be. Too hard to enforce I guess.

SenoraPostrophe · 08/12/2005 20:33

there's not such a problem with pedestrians here, but I swear, if I have another close call with a moped, I am going to give up driving all together.

It seems they don't have to obey the rules of the road - they skip lights, don't wear helmets, drive on the wrong side of the road.

I figure if we move back to the uk before dd is 12 she is safe from the damn things.

stitch, if it makes you feel better, you wouldn't have gone to jail. and you never know, they might feel sorry about what they did/said later.

SenoraPostrophe · 08/12/2005 20:34

there is no such charge as "causing death by sensible driving"

followthestarlover · 08/12/2005 20:34

not necessarily stitch! in the case here the driver was not to blame, and no charges have been brought.
the kid was trying to beat the lights and it was an accident

stitch · 08/12/2005 20:38

thank god for that.

i was basing my opinion on the news of th e man who killed the toddler by accident at heathrow. very different i guess. but kids like that just really really drive me potty.

the language didnt really bother me actually. im much too thickskinned for that. its the irresponsible behaviour that annoyed me. o, and then having to explain it all to my kids in the car
