Presents for ALL teachers?

I asked another mum at DS school yesterday what the norm was for present giving at Christmas. Do we give teacher and classroom assistant the same velue of gift?

She told me that she was getting for teacher, classroom assistant, PE teacher and the 2 dinner ladies.

Is this a bit OTT? The school has already asked and I've given for a small amount to cover gifts for non-teaching staff.

DS is only 4 and in P1 - what happens when he gets different teachers for different subjects, do they all get a gift too?

Or maybe I'm a tight cow?

I get a box of chocs for each teacher and escort and bus driver for ds2 and ds3
I stop this gift buying once they reach high school
otherwise i would go bankrupt

I do wine for teacher, teaching asst and head. they all get the same.
