Phew! I finally got it to work

I have used the experience to impress upon the boys that a good scientist analyses and evaluates their experiments, and then repeats them (incessantly) until the experiments are working correctly!

Along the way we discovered what happens if the lightly hard boiled egg is too lightly boiled!
Put it this way dh has now banned 'science' from the living room
