Where I work was short staffed and busy last month so e-mails were going round offering a £10 supercheque for every hour of overtime worked. Supercheques are vouchers where you choose from a list of retailers, send off for them and receive the retailers own vouchers to spend. Almost every e-mail was headed "Earn extra money for Xmas" to entice people to work.
Anyway I worked 26 hours extra last month which is all to be used for xmas. We are skint at present as DH does contract work and doesn't get paid over xmas at all. Work have just informed me that we are looking at about 10 -12 days for them to arrive, then we still need to send off for them and hope what we want to buy DD will still be in stock.
When I complained I was told it is a benefit and there were no guarantees they would be here in time for Xmas. Well why the hell advertise overtime like this then and what am I going to tell DD if they are not organised in time? I can't even find copies of the e-mails to complain properly.
Aaaarrgghhhh
