I've always wanted to have a scent that is so me - I am still searching for something that would be my signature - my best friend's is Opium - I usually wear Clarins Eau Dynamisante as a daily splash on, sometimes Clinique's Elixir Aromatique- I love anything with a woody(especially sandalwood) scent & nutmeg - what do other mumsnetters have as their signature ?(and don't say baby sick !)

Oh I'm a cheapo I'm a Body Shop Soft Musk girlie but really depends what time of day it is, soft musk in the morning by middayish I'm more fag & lemon fairy liquid then by evening time I'm eau de armpit.

Amazing Grace by Philosophy is what I wear.

I love it when I'm at work and someone walks past and you get this great whiff of some lovely perfume. Often wonder if anyone ever gets that from me, as I can never smell my perfume when I'm wearing it.

I love Cashmere mist by donna karan and Dolce vita but I am on the look out for a new one, don't like anything too sweet.

sunchowder · 18/10/2003 23:32

I switch between three right now: I wear Jicky by Guerlain, Angel by Thierry Mugler, (sorry Jodee--I feel your sick coming on!) and Black Cashmere by Donna Karan. I get my make-ups (Christian Dior) via this website to save tax and the shipping is FREE! www.strawberrynet.co.uk/ even though I am in the states, it is still a good deal for me. Check the sites for perfumes that you can't find, they send them out of Hong Kong straightaway, I have had good experiences with them.

I've worn Jean-Paul Gaultier since I was about 16 (nearly ten years ago now!), experimented with others but JPG is the one.

Dh loves it as well, another contributing factor, although I wouldn't change it even if he hated it!

Also wear Clinique Happy sometimes in daytime, depending on mood.
Usually for work to cheer me up!

All products are currently unscented - trying to do everything I can to prevent DS's eczema getting worse. I've found perfume waaaaaaaaaaay too strong since being pg.

hoxtonchick · 19/10/2003 08:54

oooh, snap about the little bottles, coddy. v. cute, & somehow feel better value....

bossykate · 19/10/2003 09:17

escape by CK, 154 by jo malone, coco, allure, chance by chanel - love chanel make-up too.

tigermoth · 19/10/2003 10:24

Angel, by Thierry Mugler, sorry Jodee!

I used to love Shalimar, Mitsouku and the men's Habit Rouge by Guerlaine, but wore them such a lot in my 20's that I am now giving them a rest. Used to like wearing vanilla essence too, many people complained about the pong. I have always been attracted to perfumes with custardy undertones.

If not, anything but 'Tweed' really. Hope that doesn't offend anyone.

I wear Romance by Ralph Lauren at the moment but it tends to change every 6 months or so.

white must from body shop is my favorite day scent

chanel no 5 for evening.

Demented · 19/10/2003 13:44

CK1, been wearing it for years and could do with a change, am I the only one who finds that perfume/make-up counters and small children don't mix?

Tinker · 19/10/2003 14:37

Love the idea of a signature scent but just like too many for that to happen. Having said that. haven't heard of about 75% of the ones on here.

But do love Dolce Vita, Coco and Champagne (it's changed it's name now but can't remember what it is - gold box, by Dior or YSL). But have new fave discovered in France this - Lolita Lempicka. No idea whether you can but if here or not.

lou33 · 19/10/2003 14:45

See Coddy I am not all trailer trash, we like the same perfume!

CountessDracula · 19/10/2003 15:59

Another Chanel No 5 girl, I don't even own another bottle of perfume! Love it

handlemecarefully · 20/10/2003 09:26

Eau de child's dinner

bobsmum · 20/10/2003 09:31

Deci Dela - Nina Ricci - comes in a funky pink bottle with a gold jelly bean on the top which satisfies the kitsch chick in me.

I too don't have just one perfume that I stick to; I tend to try lots. I have Obsession at the moment, but have tried loads over the years. Also, for daily work wear I have started just using Next Just Pink - pretty cheap, nice scent. Off on holiday on Friday though so will no doubt be getting some more perfume again - will take down some of these suggestions and give some a try I think.
