do you have a stocking hung out at xmas or do you just do them for the kids?

i have a loose elasticated christmas stocking

no, but I still do them for the kids (ages 13 and 18) and dh would love one but I never seem to get around to it. P'raps I should prompt the kids to do one for dh and ME!

yes, but it tends to be vasriable in quality

First Christmas with him, didn't get one, despite instruction in what was expected.

Second Christmas got a stocking, but it contained all my presents from him, so nothing under tree after church

after that got it approximately right, but I have to drop large and frequent hints from October onwards- look! that would make a great stocking-filler!

Don't expect anything expensive in my stocking. FC does silly little things!

I just hang out a stocking each for the kids but do one for dh anyway.

merry tissmas my experience, took exh quite a while to get the hang of it (still had a tendency to be Holland and Barret or another one shop) after twenty three years I then had a different partner and was back to square one!

We have one each. Lots of little treats, with main stuff under the tree

both dh and I have one. Mine is very old now, gorgeous handmade one from when I was about 6...love it.
i have always had one but dh grew up without them at all!!!!!!!he loves his now. think they are my favourite part of christmas gifts. he does mine -getting the hang of it now, finally after years of either just one shop shopping for it or putting all small gifts even really expensive stuff in it- and i do his and the childrens.

Yes we all have one. I have a lovely velvet one from Accessorize (bought in an 'after Xmas sale' )

how is it that we mums have the knowledge of stockings but the men don't

i dont have a stocking, i am in charge of the kdis ones this year, am currently going through hawkins bazaar for their stocking fillings. dd2 is gettign a pooing pig lol.

the kids have one each, and my mum still does mine, she gives it to dh on christmas eve to put at the end of our bed.
dh had never had a stocking, his fmaily beleive in teh one present for christmas rule and so when we moved in together i started doing him a stocking each year. just simple things in it, like a pair of socks, spray deondrant, travel size smellies etc.

We all have one - me, dh and 3 dds (aged 19 - 21!!) We have continued the tradition from when girls were little, and all still sit on our double bed opening them at the crack of dawn!!

we all have stockings - 2 dds, dh and me....

I'm shamed to admit that I have two! My DH does one, and my mother still does a ruddy big sack (a pillowcase!). Still I'm not complaining
