where are they all coming from?

keep getting flies in the house. Wouldn't normally worry in the summer when the windows are open etc.. bit worried about where they are coming from - in the house??

Small black ones could be fruit flies - have you got any over-ripe fruit you've forgotten about anywhere? They can also come from the soil in old plant pots.

no and no WWB... now more worried as dh said magots turn into flies! have removed plinths from under kitchen cupboards and hoovered out. Can't smell anything rotten either...

I remembered this thread a little while ago about flies - could be the answer if you have a loft/attic?

Check your dried fruit, open bags of flour and sugar etc. If they look vaguely webby they could be incubating the maggots/flies - bleugh.
